Oysters have been harvested by the Meatyard family since the 1920s.

Rick Meatyard -- Built Tall Timbers Marina and still works it today. When he retires, he will still work on boats, make Bloody Mary's, and grow oysters. Tall Timbers and Herring Creek is his office. His only fear is that he did not spend enough time in his office.

Spike Meatyard -- Spent most of his life getting lost and stuck in the marshes of the Lower Potomac. He has a deep passion and love the Chesapeake Bay watershed. His main goal in life is keep one foot on land and the other completely submerged in salty bay water.
